C'est au salon de Turin 1971 que le carossier Bertone présentait la Lancia Stratos, un prototype de voiture de compétition développé par Marcello Gandini.
Remplaçante de la vaillante Fulvia 1600HF, le cahier des charges avait été défini par Cesare Fiorio, le directeur de la compétition Lancia. Très basse, légère, bénéficiant d'un empattement ultra-court, motorisé par le V6 Dino ferrari transversal central arrière de 2 418 cm3 développant 190 CV, la Stratos affichait un rapport-poids puissance exceptionnel et devait s'imposer comme la référence absolue des voitures de rallyes dans les années 70. ...

C'est en 1983 qu’étaient présentées simultanément la 205, nouveau porte drapeau d'Automobiles Peugeot et la 205 Turbo 16, une toute nouvelle voiture confiée à l'équipe de Peugeot-Talbot Sport dirigée par Jean Todt. Cette bête de rallye au concept novateur était une traction intégrale, équipée d'un moteur central quatre cylindres 16 soupapes turbocompressé développant 340 CV.
Avec cette fantastique voiture, caractérise par sa polyvalence et son agilité, Peugeot était couronné Champion du Monde des rallyes pour marques en 1985 et 1986 et Champion du Monde des rallyes pour pilotes en 1985 avec Timo Salonen et en 1986 avec Juha Kankkunen. ...
